 - Some of the major tournaments that Rory Mcilroy has recently competed in include the Ryder Cup, the World Cup, the Seve Tropthy, and the Walker Cup. 

- The top prize/top tournament in 2015 was The Masters at Augusta Golf Club which was won by an Austin, Texas native, Jordan Spieth.


5. List three important rules for your sport:
  • The putting line must not be touched by any player's hand or club, except that loose impediments may be removed, and in certain other circumstances.
  • A player may lift his ball from the green to clean it, but must mark its position and must not lift it when another ball is in motion.
  • Teeing off from outside the teeing ground is not a penalty in match play, but the opponent may require the stroke be cancelled and replayed within the tee ground. Teeing off from outside the teeing ground is a two-stroke penalty in stroke play.


6. Backswing- The motion of swinging the golf club away from the ball and setting it in position to come down and impact the ball.
Caddie- A person hired to carry clubs for a play and provide other assistance 
Tee Box- The area where players tee to start a hole

7. Smoking and chewing tobacco is an old fashioned sports cliché associated with the players. In other words, it's a stereotype of old golfers to chew tobacco or smoke while playing through the course.

8. Ben Hogan was one of the greatest golfers of all time. He was admired for not only his skills, but his character. 
Hogan was known for his fierce concentration and long hours of dedicated practice.
      Ben Hogan was born on August 13, 1912 in Stephensville, Texas. His family moved to Fort Worth in 1921, where shortly after, his father committed suicide. Hogan and his brother started to caddy at Glen Garden until Hogan got serious and dropped out of high school (senior year) to focus on his game. Hogan went pro in February 1930.
Years after getting married in 1935, Hogan won his first professional tournament, The Hershey Four-Ball 1938.
He was drafted into the U.S. Army Air Corps from 1943 to 1945, and when he returned wins his first major tournaments. Sadly, Ben Hogan was involved in a near-fatal car accident in 1949, in which he threw himself over his wife Valerie Fox, and got serious injuries. Hogan didn't go back to playing the same and spent most of his time doing hands off golf activities. He released his book, "Follow the Sun" and founded Hogan Company. He retired form competitive golf on 1971. Hogan died at his Forth Worth home on July 25, 1997.
